Rolling Road Run

After fitting a new Powerspeed exhaust system, which had already given me more mid-range torque and top-end speed, I though a tune-up would be in order to make sure everything was running properly, and to see what BHP I had and if it could be increased.

As the sun rose, I headed out to Brooklands Horsepower in Weybridge, where I met up with Ian who as well being a mechanical genius , makes quite good coffee too !!

I'd only booked in for a rolling-road run, but he was happy to check and re-set the tappets for me before we pushed the Seven onto the rollers ready for the run:

BHP on arrival 96
BHP after rolling road - 107 BHP !!!!!

That is a 10% hike in power. Ian reckoned the fueling was bang on and better than some injected cars, and the torque was very impressive, as well as a very smooth power delivery. All achieved with moving the advance back from 32 to 30 degrees.

AFTER
(NB: The spike at the top of the torque curve is a known glitch on the Sun machine and should be disregarded)

Popped in to Brooklands to find that there was a tribute going on for Bill Boddy, MotorSport Magazine's editor who sadly passed away recently, with various vintage machines on the test hill.

I also found an the original 1930's Brooklands Pits in the middle of the business park !
