French Performance Meet at the Ace Cafe

After an extremely mundane Monday, a friend called up to ask if I'd like to head up to the Ace for the meet. This icy winter means I'll take any opportunity for anything car related to go to, as the 7 hasn't seen the light of day for weeks !

Knowing he'd recently picked up a brand new Clio 200 ,I thought I'd tag along , and any confusion I had over the words 'French' and 'Performance' was soon addressed !

On arrival we headed straight in and sampled some of the finest stodge on offer in the UK, and washed it down with a very nice beer (Cheers Matt !), and proceeded out into the icy cold car park to kick some tyres with James who runs his ow Renault tuning/garage business, and seriously knows his stuff.

Some interesting metal in the car park takes me back to the time when I had a series of Golf Mk 2's !, and a wide-arched GT-Turbo with almost liquid like deep bodywork was just pipped at the post by a few very nicely turned out 106 Rallyes as the best car of the night.

A cup of tea later and we were making the jump to lightspeed on the M25 , where I climbed into my slightly smaller , and slightly less performance, Smart for the 'trundle' home.

Cheers Matt !
