New Years Day, The Phoenix, Hook, 2011

Please come back later when a full slide show will be uploaded !
If you look in the background you'll see Dick Turpin and his men 'selling' coffee and bacon sarnies !
This meet gets bigger and bigger. The Phoenix is the birthplace of the Vintage Sports Car Club, and is still very much as it was when Colin Chapman turned up with a Formula 2 Car on a trailer, and proceeded to blast up and down the road, in the manner of a true Sunriser (we should grant him honourary status !)

The run down was a little cold , and a lot more slippy, I thought , as I fed in a lot more opposite lock than normal off the Showcase Roundabout in Reading !

As I parked a fellow ReHaBber , Mark Chilton pulled in behind me with his son Kai, who always attends the annual pilgrimage.

The car park was full of the usual VSCC stuff, and 'that C-Type' who always seems to be in the back car park (must get up early). Other interesting kit was a superb selection of rat-rods, a very nice aeroscreened Healey, a 'souped' Fiat 600, a very nice Laverda Jota, as well as some good representation of the Lotus/Caterham Marque.

Lots of nice stuff around......
......far too many of these on display !
A great day, marred only by the Phoenix charging £2.50 for a coffee and £6.50 for a bacon roll - It's almost cheaper to pay to get into Brooklands next year, AND have breakfast.

And Brooklands are jumping on the bandwagon this year with a Breakfast Club of their own !

FULL GALLERY WILL APPEAR HERE THIS EVE !
