It's 24th October, and possibly the last run of the Caterham......
.....the roads are dry (...ish), and the alarm clock wakes me at 6.00am, I stumble around for 15 minutes finding clothing , keys, helmet etc, and get down to the garage in record time.
I notice my breath in the morning air (well, I think it's morning , but as it's dark, I'm not really sure :)
I head down to the meeting point, to find ChevyStu's Camaro is the first car to arrive. And to think I was worried I'd wake up my neighbours with the 7 as I fired up, Stu must wake entire counties (or is that countries !!!).

Soon the air was full of noise as the rest of the pack arrived. After a quick pre-flight briefing by our Commanding Officer for the morning (VerySideways), we headed towards Henley on the sublime riverside Wargrave road, one of my favourite routes for a morning wake-up !
The road surface went from dry to wet and back , and it was actually drier UNDER the trees at some points !. The other high point of the 80 mile round trip was the Wantage Ridgeway, which has to be one of the best roads in the South, with picturesque views, and a great view of the road ahead for those loooong overtakes (I was just tring to keep up !) As we dropped in through the mist covering the neighbouring fields , the pace quickened on the straights, and the M3csl I was following shifted into warp speed !, and the diff-wail of the Cosworth Escort following me increased.

The 80 mile roundtrip concluded at 'Carriages - Dine n' Shine' cafe on the A33,(restored from the derelict Mr Munch, net to the BP Garage), which a great place for a 'healthy' breakfast after a hard mornings blatting !, and car-friendly. It's the Greasy-Spoon reinvented !
Good turnout for a subzero 7.00am start !
Changeable conditions, some massive horsepower, and only one casualty .......
