Sossidges, dry roads and.....Nigel Mansell !!!

6.00am - an unexpectedly dry day meant an early morning text from the C.O. !......."Contact !", and a tie up with the Lotus Seven Club's roadside "Sossidges Run" where they set up a BBQ at the side of the road along the annual London to Brighton Veteran car run.

After failing to start first time on the drive , I proceeded to wake the entire street by cranking the starter a further 3 times before leaving 'quietly !'

For this run we met at our now infamous Rendezvous point in Farnham , to be lead by Blat Leader Cannonball Bob.

The usual epic standards of roads and blatting ensued. and with some gusto as somehow , Craig had managed to shoehorn the engine from the Millenium Falcon under the bonnet of his GBS Zero ! - It absolutely flies, although a 4th gear problem ensured I could at least try to keep up !

Craig makes the jump to light-speed !
We were one of the first few Sevens in the car park to the Lotus Seven Club BBQ, where we joined a final number of , wait for it a record 140 Sevens !!!!!!

- and Some Porsches (quite rightly 'behind Bars'")

We even had a visit from a bearded Nigel Mansell (good spot by Bob , as I didn't recognise him with a beard !!!)

Apologies for bailing out early but had to get to the pub for a surprise birthday party, so a motorway blat ensured a quick blast back home !
This may be a bit blurry, but is exactly what happens to your eyes
after a Sunrise Sevens Blat ...usually cured by a 'full English"
This car slipped quietly into the back car park......a custom built 'R600' (yes that's 600BHP per ton, 2.8secs to 60 !!!), but still a top speed of 140MPH versus the Crossflow's 120MPH !!
