After 6 long months of no work......and more importantly , no Caterham !, a new job finally happened, and preparation began on the Seven . re-greasing front hubs, refilling trunnions, painting rear drums, a full service and a set of shiny new wheels and boots. An MOT at Finchampstead MOT station followed, along with the ubiquitous tax and insurance (£150 from Adrian Flux !!!)
Glorious mural at Finch MOT, proving that blatting is not a new invention !
A call from Carrots came in and , with an invite to a new mission to Hayling Island. The Weather forecast was great (more on this later !), and I fired up the Seven for the first time since service and MOT....I always love that silky smooth engine note using new oil !
I'd forgotten what driving an aeroscreened 7 was all about , and , upon arriving at the usual RVP , Farnham Station, I was absolutely buzzing !
Paul and Steve were waiting for me, and set of in their usual style for the blat (sideways !)
The usual planning from Steve had gone into the route, and it took in some great roads, and even better scenery, especially along the hill top road overlooking Portsmouth. As we came into Cosham , we lost Paul on a roundabout.......
...but regrouped at the superb Delias Diner for Teaa, Coffee, and some 'Health-food'
The weather reports , could have been better, as we had to 'take cover' for coffee and cake (purely medicinal, you understand ), at a convenient tea shoppe in Up Marsden.
